Shamis & Gentile P.A., one of the nation's premier class action law firms specializing in data breach cases, is investigating the Artemis Healthcare data breach.

If you were affected by the data breach, your sensitive personally identifiable information may have been exposed, and you may be eligible for compensation.

About Artemis Healthcare

Artemis Healthcare is an anatomic pathology laboratory that provides services to office-based physicians, surgery centers and hospitals in Florida and North Carolina.

Founded in 2021, they employ 51-200 employees.

What Happened?

On May 31, 2025, Artemis Healthcare discovered suspicious network activity and determined that a ransomware group had targeted its systems. The company responded by force changing passwords, terminating active sessions and engaging third-party forensic specialists to investigate the breach.

The investigation revealed that unauthorized access to Artemis’s network occurred between May 5, 2025, and May 31, 2025. The attackers, identified as the group Crypto24, posted about the hack on the Tor network on July 16, 2025.

Artemis Healthcare completed its investigation on Sept. 12, 2025, and began notifying affected individuals soon after. The Vermont Attorney General and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services were notified of the breach.

According to disclosures, the breach impacted 45,867 people in the United States.

The compromised data varies by individual but may include sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, health insurance information, and medical information.

Your Rights and Next Steps

If you were notified that your data was involved in the Artemis Healthcare breach, you have important rights and options.

It is recommended to remain vigilant by monitoring all financial and medical accounts for suspicious activity. You are entitled to one free credit report per year from each of the three major credit bureaus.

You also have the right to place a free fraud alert or credit freeze on your credit file. A fraud alert requires businesses to verify your identity before issuing credit, while a credit freeze prevents new credit accounts from being opened in your name without your permission. Both can help protect against identity theft and unauthorized use of your information.

If you suspect your information has been misused, report it to your bank, credit card company or other relevant institutions immediately. You may also file a report with law enforcement and the Federal Trade Commission.

Artemis Healthcare has stated they are reviewing their security policies and providing additional training to employees. They have also notified state and federal regulators, as required by law.

You May Be Entitled to Compensation

If your information was compromised in the Artemis Healthcare data breach, you may be eligible for compensation. Lawyers are ready to help affected individuals pursue claims for damages related to lost time, potential identity theft, and emotional distress.
