What Happened?
On April 7, 2026, Arkansas Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons discovered potential unauthorized access to its computer systems.
An investigation was launched, and by June 2, 2026, it was determined that an unauthorized third party had acquired files containing patient information. The breach was later disclosed to the Massachusetts Attorney General on Aug. 4, 2026.
The incident has been linked to a ransomware attack by a group known as PEAR, who claimed to have obtained 2.1 TB of sensitive data. The stolen data reportedly included financial records, HR information, provider and vendor data, patient records and more. The breach was posted on the dark web on April 10, 2026.
