What Happened?

On May 22, 2025, ApolloMD detected unusual activity in its IT environment. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that an unauthorized third party accessed ApolloMD’s systems between May 22 and May 23, 2025. The company engaged a third-party forensic firm and notified law enforcement to help address the situation.

The breach resulted in unauthorized access to files containing sensitive information for patients treated by ApolloMD’s affiliated physicians and practices.

  • Addresses
  • Diagnosis information
  • Provider names
  • Dates of service
  • Treatment information
  • Health insurance information
  • Social Security numbers (for some individuals)

On June 12, 2025, the hacking group Qilin claimed responsibility for the attack on the dark web, stating they obtained 238 GB of data. ApolloMD began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on Sept. 17, 2025, and has offered complimentary credit monitoring to those whose Social Security numbers were involved.
