What Happened?
On Nov. 24, 2025, Anywhere Real Estate discovered a cybersecurity incident involving its Oracle E-Business Suite environment. An unauthorized third party exploited a previously unknown “zero day” Oracle software vulnerability to access and export information.
The breach was later claimed by the CL0P ransomware group, which posted about the incident on the dark web on Nov. 21, 2025. The company promptly launched an investigation with third-party cybersecurity experts and took steps to remediate the vulnerability.
The breach impacted personal information of current and former employees across several Anywhere Real Estate entities, including Cartus, NRT, Title Resource Group and Real Estate Franchise Group.
Starting on Feb. 2, 2026, the incident was disclosed to the attorneys general offices of California, Maine, New Hampshire, Texas, and Vermont, and the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.
The incident impacted 17,429 individuals, including 1,487 in Texas, 658 in Massachusetts, 151 in New Hampshire and 69 in Maine.
