What Happened?
On July 25, 2023, AnMed discovered a cybersecurity incident involving ransomware that affected its network.
The breach was reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Aug. 27, 2026. Shortly after the incident, a ransomware group known as The Gentlemen claimed responsibility and threatened to publish stolen data on the dark web.
The breach disrupted AnMed's systems, leading to temporary closures and operational changes across its facilities.
An investigation with third-party cybersecurity specialists and authorities is ongoing. It has been confirmed that a wide range of sensitive consumer information was exposed.
