What Happened?
On May 26, 2026, Agave Dental Floresville was informed by its IT support company of irregularities related to remote access session hosts. It became clear that a cyberattack had occurred.
The IT team locked down external access, disabled all accounts with remote desktop web access, and forced a password reset across the office. The patient record platform was restored, and archived data was not affected by the attack.
An investigation determined that certain personal information of patients might have been accessed during the breach. Payment information and dental care services were not impacted.

- Driver’s license numbers
- Government-issued ID numbers (such as passport or state ID card numbers)
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
- Dates of birth
The breach was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General on July 28, 2026, and affected 11,790 people in Texas.
