What Happened?

On June 16, 2026, Advantage Home Care discovered a security incident involving unauthorized access to one of its computer servers.

The investigation revealed that a third party had gained access to the server as early as June 9, 2026, and acquired documents containing sensitive information.

On July 17, 2026, the ransomware group known as The Gentlemen claimed responsibility for the attack and threatened to publish stolen data on the dark web.

The following information was confirmed to have been exposed as a result of the incident:

Information Exposed:

  • First and last names
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Information about medical conditions and care received

For employees, the breach may have also included information about employment with Advantage Home Care, health insurance details, plan enrollment, claims information, healthcare provider information and health benefits.

The incident was reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Aug. 25, 2026, with a total of 19,851 individuals affected nationwide.
