What Happened?
On Nov. 12, 2025, Advanced Power Services detected suspicious activity within its computer network.
An investigation, aided by third-party cybersecurity experts, revealed that an unauthorized third party gained access to a portion of the network between August and November 2025.
The breach was later linked to a ransomware attack by the group known as Akira, which claimed to have stolen 51 GB of confidential data, including employee records, financial information, contracts, agreements and more.
The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General on Aug. 17, 2026, and to the Vermont Attorney General on Aug. 18, 2026.
