Anatomic and Clinical Laboratory Associates, P.C. (also known as ACLA) is a physician-owned pathology group based in Nashville, Tennessee. The group provides diagnostic anatomic and clinical pathology services to hospitals, outpatient centers and physician offices throughout Middle Tennessee.
ACLA delivers pathology services, including blood banking, hematopathology, cytopathology, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology, gynecologic and breast pathology, and general surgical pathology.
What Happened?
On Dec. 1, 2025, ACLA discovered potential unauthorized activity within its computer network. The company immediately began an investigation, working with external cybersecurity experts to secure their systems. During this process, it was determined that an unknown actor may have accessed and downloaded certain files from the network without authorization.
A comprehensive review of the affected files was completed on April 27, 2026. It was then confirmed that personal and/or protected health information belonging to certain individuals may have been involved. On June 23, 2026, ACLA mailed notification letters to those potentially impacted.

- Dates of birth
- Social Security numbers
- Taxpayer identification numbers
- Medical dates of service
- Medical provider names
- Mental or physical condition information
- Medical treatment/procedure information
- Diagnosis or clinical information
- Medical history
- Patient account numbers
- Medical record numbers
The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General's office, with at least 69 Massachusetts residents affected. ACLA has also published a public notice on its website.
