With approximately 110 employees, the credit union offers both personal and business banking solutions, including online and mobile banking, credit monitoring and various loan options.

What Happened?

On Aug. 14, 2025, 1st MidAmerica Credit Union was notified by its vendor, Marquis Software Solutions, of suspicious activity on Marquis’ network. Marquis determined that an unauthorized third party had accessed its computing environment and may have acquired files containing sensitive information.

By Oct. 27, 2025, Marquis provided a list of potentially affected data, and on Nov. 24, 2025, it was confirmed that the personal information of 131,070 individuals in the United States was involved in the breach, including seven Maine residents and seven New Hampshire residents.

The types of information exposed in this incident include:

  • Social Security numbers

The breach was disclosed to the attorneys general offices of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont starting on Jan. 30, 2026. Affected individuals were notified in writing.
