
The Winn-Dixie Co. LLC, a regional supermarket chain headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, recently disclosed a data breach. The total number of individuals affected by the breach across the United States has not been publicly reported.
The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Oct. 5, 2026.
On Aug. 3, 2026, a ransomware group known as Anubis posted a claim on the Tor network, claiming it had successfully obtained data belonging to Winn-Dixie.
The data that Anubis claimed to have obtained included internal corporate documents, sales and revenue data, store performance information, product and inventory records, business intelligence and other sensitive corporate information.
The company's official notification to consumers indicated that the personal information exposed in the breach included Social Security numbers.
The company is offering affected individuals complimentary access to Experian IdentityWorks for 24 months. Affected individuals received a unique activation code in their notification letter that they can use to enroll in the Experian IdentityWorks service online.
Individual must enroll before the deadline stated in their letter, as the activation code will not work after that date.
Winn-Dixie has set up a dedicated Customer Care Center for individuals who have questions about the breach or need further assistance. Affected individuals can reach the center by calling 1-844-745-0463 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. EST daily.
