United Language Group Data Breach Exposes Social Security Numbers

United Language Group LLC, a Minneapolis-based language services company, disclosed a data breach that exposed sensitive personal and medical information belonging to consumers. United Language Group, also known as ULG, was acquired by Propio Language Services in September 2024.

The breach was reported to the Texas Attorney General on Aug. 21, 2026, with 333 Texas residents identified as affected.

The breach at United Language Group resulted in the exposure of both personally identifiable information and protected health information.

The PII exposed in the breach included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, government-issued identification numbers (such as passports and state ID cards) and financial information (such as account numbers and credit or debit card numbers).

The PHI exposed in the breach included medical information and health insurance information.

United Language Group's response to the breach

United Language Group notified affected consumers about the breach by U.S. Mail.

Given the sensitive nature of the information involved in this incident, consumers who receive a notification letter are encouraged to act on any instructions it contains without delay. It is important to remain vigilant and review accounts for any unauthorized or suspicious activity.
