Synergis Technologies Data Breach Exposes Social Security Numbers

Synergis Technologies LLC, a privately owned software company that develops document management and workflow solutions for engineering, manufacturing and construction organizations, has disclosed a data breach that occurred over several weeks in the late summer of 2026.

The company filed a disclosure notice with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Oct. 30, 2026, and began mailing notification letters to impacted individuals on Oct. 29, 2026.

Synergis Technologies became aware of suspicious activity related to an employee's email account and took measures to reduce the risk of further unauthorized activity. The company launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident.

The investigation determined that the unauthorized access occurred between Aug. 14, 2026, and Sept. 11, 2026. The compromised email account contained messages that included personal information belonging to certain individuals.

The types of personal information exposed included names and Social Security numbers.

Synergis Technologies' response to the breach

Synergis is offering affected individuals 12 months of free credit monitoring and identity restoration assistance services through Epiq at no cost. To enroll, affected individuals can visit the Epiq enrollment page, click "Activate Account" and enter the activation code provided in their notification letter. The enrollment deadline is Jan. 31, 2027.
