Security Industry Specialists Inc. (SIS), a privately held security services company headquartered in Culver City, California, disclosed a data breach that may have exposed sensitive personal information.

SIS experienced a data security incident that may have compromised personal information held by SIS in the course of its business operations.

The types of personal information that may have been exposed varied by person but included names, Social Security numbers, medical records, financial account information and driver's license numbers.

The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Sept. 26, 2026, with 40 Massachusetts residents identified as affected.

Security Industry Specialists' response to the breach

SIS is partnering with Kroll to provide affected individuals with identity monitoring services at no cost for 24 months.

Affected individuals can enroll by visiting Kroll's enrollment page and entering the unique membership number included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed by the deadline specified in each person's letter.

The company set up a dedicated call center at 1-844-958-8975 for individuals with questions about the incident or the services being offered. The call center is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
