On May 23, 2025, Sensata Technologies, Inc., a global leader in electrical and electronic manufacturing, discovered a significant data breach affecting its systems. The breach occurred on two separate dates: March 28, 2025, and April 6, 2025.

The types of data exposed in this breach were extensive. Impacted information included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, state-issued identification card numbers, tax identification numbers, financial account information, payment card information, health insurance information, medical information, and other government-issued identification numbers.

While the total number of individuals impacted in the United States has not been disclosed, specific state reports provide some insight. In Maine, 362 residents were affected, and in New Hampshire, 69 individuals were impacted.

The company began notifying affected consumers in writing on June 5, 2025. The breach was reported to several state authorities, including the Maine Attorney General, Massachusetts Attorney General, California Attorney General, Vermont Attorney General, and New Hampshire Attorney General. Sensata Technologies also filed a disclosure with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on April 6, 2025.
