
Secure Healthcare Information Management LLC, a Pennsylvania-based billing and medical management company, disclosed a data breach that may have exposed sensitive personal and protected health information.
On July 17, 2026, Secure Healthcare Information Management experienced a network disruption. The company initiated an investigation into the matter to understand what had occurred and whether any personal information had been compromised.
The investigation revealed that an unknown actor had accessed or acquired certain personal information without authorization. The unauthorized access occurred at some point between July 6, 2026, and July 16, 2026.
Following the discovery, the company undertook a comprehensive review of the affected files to determine which specific individuals may have been impacted. On Sept. 18, 2026, the company confirmed the full scope of the incident.
The types of information potentially exposed included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification numbers, medical information and health insurance information.
The company posted a notice of the incident on its website, as well as reported the incident to the Vermont Attorney General. Secure Healthcare Information Management began sending notification letters to affected individuals on Oct. 6, 2026.
Secure Healthcare Information Management is offering complimentary identity protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. Enrollment instructions were included in the notification letters.
The company additionally established a toll-free call center to answer questions about the incident. The call center can be reached at 1-833-516-7420 and is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
