ProDirectional Data Breach Exposes Social Security Numbers

Professional Directional Enterprises Inc., an oil and energy services company commonly known as ProDirectional, disclosed a data breach from May 12, 2026, that affected at least 2,853 Texas residents.

The breach was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General on July 14, 2026, with 2,853 Texas residents identified as affected. The company discovered the breach on June 19, 2026, and began notifying consumers on July 10, 2026.

On July 15, 2026, a ransomware group called Securotrop claimed responsibility for the attack. The group posted a message on the Tor network, a part of the dark web that allows users to operate anonymously. In its posting, Securotrop stated that it had obtained data belonging to ProDirectional and threatened to publish the stolen information within nine to 10 days.

The personal information exposed in this breach included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and financial information such as account numbers and credit or debit card numbers.
