Pathfinder/LL&D Insurance Group, a Houston-based independent insurance agency that has been operating since 1913, disclosed a data breach that affected thousands of people. The company offers insurance products across multiple states.

A disclosure was filed with the Texas Attorney General on April 29, 2026.

The total number of individuals impacted nationwide has not been publicly reported; however, so far, 7,382 Texas residents were impacted.

On Sept. 15, 2025, the PLAY ransomware group posted on a dark web forum, claiming it had obtained organizational data from Pathfinder/LL&D Insurance Group. The group also announced it planned to publish the stolen data within four to five days of the posting.

The compromised data reportedly included private and personal information, client documents, budgets, payroll records, accounting files, tax data, identification details and financial information.

The confirmed types of consumer information exposed in the breach included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial information (such as account numbers or credit or debit card numbers), medical information, health insurance information and dates of birth.
