Midland Care Connection Data Breach Exposes Social Security Numbers

Midland Care Connection Inc., a nonprofit healthcare organization headquartered in Topeka, Kansas, has disclosed a data breach involving unauthorized access to its computer network. The total number of individuals affected by the breach has not been publicly disclosed.

On or about March 31, 2026, MCC became aware of unusual activity in its network environment. The organization launched an investigation and brought in legal counsel along with third-party forensic specialists to examine the suspicious activity.

The investigation found that certain information may have been accessed and copied without authorization on about March 30, 2026.

MCC then conducted a thorough review of the affected data to determine what personal information was involved and which individuals were impacted. The review concluded on June 12, 2026.

The types of personal information potentially exposed varies by individual but may include names, dates of birth, medical treatment information, medical health information, medical insurance information, financial account information and Social Security numbers.

MCC began notifying consumers on June 29, 2026, and filed a disclosure with the Nebraska Attorney General. The company also posted a notice about the incident on its website.

Midland Care Connection's response to the breach

MCC is offering affected individuals 12 months of free credit monitoring, a single bureau credit report and a single bureau credit score at no charge.

Affected individuals can enroll by visiting the Cyberscout activation page and entering the unique code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.

The organization is also providing proactive fraud assistance to help with questions or in the event someone becomes a victim of fraud. These services are available through the same dedicated phone line listed above.
