
Lusamerica Foods, a family-owned seafood processor and distributor headquartered in Morgan Hill, California, disclosed a data breach on Jan. 31, 2026.
The breach was reported to the California Attorney General on May 18, 2026.
On Jan. 31, 2026, Lusamerica Foods was the target of a ransomware attack.
On Feb. 13, 2026, a ransomware group known as PLAY posted a claim on the Tor network. In the posting, the group stated to have accessed private and personal confidential data, client documents, budget information, payroll records, IDs, tax information and finance information.
Lusamerica Foods did not disclose the specific types of consumer information that were exposed in the breach as part of its notification to consumers.
The total number of people affected across the United States has not been made public as of May 19, 2026.
Lusamerica Foods set up a dedicated, confidential toll-free response line for individuals who have questions about the incident.
The response line is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, excluding holidays.
The company is also offering a credit monitoring service to affected individuals.
