Ladenburg Thalmann Data Breach Exposes Personal and Financial Information

Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc., a financial services and investment banking firm, disclosed a data breach caused by an email phishing incident.

The company's public notification did not provide specific dates for when the phishing incident took place or when it was first discovered. The notice did not explain how long the exposure lasted or identify any specific threat actors involved in the attack.

The types of personal information exposed in the breach included Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account codes, credit and debit account information and financial account details.

According to the respective state filings, 63 Massachusetts residents and 5 Vermont residents were affected by the incident.

Ladenburg Thalmann is offering a complimentary two-year membership to Kroll Identity Monitoring.

Affected individuals can activate their monitoring services by visiting Kroll's enrollment page and entering the unique membership number included in their notification letter. Additional information about Kroll and the identity monitoring services is available at Kroll's information site.
