Kubota North America Corp., a machinery company headquartered in Grapevine, Texas, disclosed a data breach involving unauthorized access to employee records held by its human resources team.

Between March 16, 2026, and April 20, 2026, an unauthorized party gained access to certain network systems at Kubota North America. On April 30, 2026, the company discovered that files maintained by its human resources team had been accessed as part of the incident.

After discovery, the company conducted a careful review of the affected files to determine what information was compromised. On June 16, 2026, the company determined that one or more files may have contained personal information of individuals.

Because the breach involved human resources files, the types of information exposed varied by individual and depended on each person's role and benefits elections at the company.

The exposed personally identifiable information may have included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, taxpayer identification numbers, driver's license or other government-issued identification numbers, financial account information used for direct deposit and payment card information for corporate cards. For individuals enrolled in the company's benefits plan, enrollment and limited claims information may also have been accessed.

The breach was disclosed to the attorneys general offices of California and Massachusetts on June 30, 2026. Kubota additionally posted a notice about the incident on its website.
