Jackson National Data Breach Exposes Social Security Numbers

Jackson National Life Insurance Co., a financial services company headquartered in Lansing, Michigan, disclosed a data breach involving the personal information of certain consumers.

Jackson determined on Sept. 17, 2026, that personal information belonging to certain individuals had been disclosed. The letter informed affected individuals about the nature of the incident and identified the specific types of personal data that were involved.

The personal information exposed in this breach included names and Social Security numbers.

Jackson disclosed the breach to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Sept. 23, 2026. Jackson sent notification letters to those affected on Sept. 23, 2026.

Jackson National Life's response to the breach

Jackson offered affected individuals a complimentary two-year membership to Experian's IdentityWorks program. To enroll, affected individuals can visit the Experian IdentityWorks website and enter the unique activation code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed by July 22, 2027.

Individuals who have questions about the IdentityWorks program, need help with identity restoration or would prefer an alternative to enrolling online can contact Experian's customer care team at 877-890-9332.

Jackson also advised affected individuals to remain vigilant about their personal information and to report any suspicious activity related to their Jackson accounts promptly.
