
Exeter Finance LLC, a privately held auto finance company headquartered in Irving, Texas, disclosed a data breach involving consumer personal information.
Exeter Finance identified a security incident that involved certain consumer personal information. Upon identifying the incident, the company took action to review the affected data and determine which individuals' personal information may have been involved.
On June 10, 2026, Exeter Finance completed its review and confirmed that the breach involved personal information. The types of information exposed included names, Exeter auto loan account numbers, financial account information and other categories of information.
The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on June 26, 2026. The company mailed notification letters to consumers on June 25, 2026.
Exeter Finance is offering affected individuals 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Epiq. The service, called Privacy Solutions ID 1B Credit Monitoring Plus, includes one-bureau credit monitoring with alerts, a VantageScore 3.0 credit score and report, Social Security number monitoring, dark web monitoring and change of address monitoring.
Affected individuals can enroll by visiting Epiq's enrollment website and entering the activation code provided in their notification letter. Those who need help with enrollment or have questions about the monitoring service can call Epiq directly at 866-675-2006, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET.
