
Electric Research and Manufacturing Cooperative Inc. (ERMCO), a manufacturer of distribution transformers headquartered in Dyersburg, Tennessee, disclosed a data breach that exposed sensitive personal information.
The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Sept. 25, 2026.
The notification to impacted individuals did not include specific dates for when the incident took place or when it was discovered. As a result, the key details of the incident remain unclear publicly.
The exposed information included each affected person's name, Social Security number, driver's license or state identification card number, passport number, medical information or health insurance information.
ERMCO is offering affected individuals a complimentary 24-month membership to identity monitoring services provided by Kroll. The services include three components: single bureau credit monitoring, fraud consultation and identity theft restoration.
Affected individuals can activate their identity monitoring services by visiting Kroll's enrollment page and entering their unique membership number, which was included in their notification letter. Each affected individual received a specific deadline for enrollment in their personal letter.
Ermco has also set up a dedicated call center to answer questions about the incident. Affected individuals can call 844-301-0159, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
