Bloom's Bus Lines Data Breach Impacts 1.4k: SSNs Exposed

Bloom's Bus Lines, a family-owned transportation company headquartered in Taunton, Massachusetts, disclosed a data breach caused by a ransomware attack that exposed consumers' personal information.

The company filed a disclosure with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Aug. 17, 2026, identifying 1,411 Massachusetts residents as affected by the incident.

On Feb. 7, 2026, the PLAY ransomware group posted a claim on the dark web through the Tor network, stating it had obtained data belonging to Bloom's Bus Lines Inc.

According to the posting, the compromised information reportedly included private and personal confidential data, client documents, budget information, payroll records, IDs, tax documents and finance information. The group threatened to publish the stolen data within four days of the posting.

The types of personal information confirmed as exposed in this breach included Social Security numbers and driver's licenses.

Bloom's Bus Lines' response to the breach

Bloom's Bus Lines is offering affected individuals 24 months of complimentary identity protection services through Kroll. These services include three components: credit monitoring, fraud consultation and identity theft restoration.

Affected individuals can enroll in these services online using the unique membership number included in their notification letter. Each letter also includes a deadline for enrollment.

The company additionally set up a dedicated phone line for individuals who have questions or need assistance. The number is 844-958-8960, and representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
