Apollo Management Holdings Data Breach Exposes Social Security Numbers

Apollo Management Holdings, L.P., a Delaware-based financial services holding company and investment manager associated with Apollo Global Management, disclosed a data breach that occurred in July 2026.

The breach was reported to the California and Vermont attorneys general starting on Aug. 20, 2026. The company mailed notification letters to affected individuals on Aug. 21, 2026.

Apollo experienced a social engineering incident that resulted in unauthorized access to certain cloud platforms.

The company stated that upon detecting the incident, it launched an investigation to determine the scope of the unauthorized access and what information may have been affected. The investigation found that unauthorized access had occurred between July 6 and July 10, 2026.

On Aug. 12, 2026, Apollo's investigation determined that the personal information potentially impacted by the incident included names, dates of birth, contact information, home addresses and Social Security numbers.

Apollo Management Holdings' response to the breach

Apollo is offering affected individuals 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Cyberscout.

To enroll in the complimentary services, affected individuals can visit the Cyberscout enrollment page and enter the unique code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.

The company has set up a dedicated help line at 1-833-851-9983, staffed by fraud specialists who can assist with questions related to the incident. The help line is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time, excluding holidays, and will remain open for 90 days from the date of the notification letter.
