
Advantest America Inc., the North American subsidiary of Advantest Corporation, disclosed a data breach that took place earlier this year.
The breach was reported to the attorneys general offices of California and Vermont on Oct. 5, 2026. Advantest became aware of the incident in February 2026, and the company's written notifications to consumers are dated Oct. 6, 2026.
On Jan. 23, 2026, an unauthorized third party accessed Advantest's systems and extracted some data from the company's servers. The incident impacted Advantest Corporation and its subsidiaries, not just its North American operations.
The company conducted a detailed assessment of the data involved in the incident.
The types of information exposed included contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, national ID numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, medical information, financial information, financial account codes, credit and debit account information and other ID numbers.
Advantest is offering affected individuals 18 months of free credit and web monitoring services provided by Kroll. To enroll, affected individuals can visit the enrollment website included in their personalized notification letter using the unique membership number provided. The deadline to activate these services is Jan. 4, 2027.
