On Nov. 26, 2025, Mortgage Educators and Compliance (MEC), a wesbite managed by 360training.com, Inc., discovered a data breach that compromised sensitive customer information.
According to regulatory filings, the breach affected a total of 24,594 individuals in the United States. The incident impacted residents across multiple states, with 2,391 individuals affected in Texas, 323 in Massachusetts, 145 in New Hampshire, and 49 in Maine.
The exposed information included credit and debit card numbers, first and last names, and payment card details.
The breach was reported to state authorities, including the attorneys general of California, Maine, New Hampshire, Texas, and Vermont, and the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.
The company notified affected consumers in writing on Feb. 24, 2026.
Following the discovery of the breach, MEC took steps to notify affected individuals and relevant authorities as required by law. Written notification letters were sent to those whose information was compromised, providing details about the breach and guidance on protecting personal information.
The company advised affected individuals to remain vigilant for signs of identity theft or fraud. Resources were provided in the notice, including contact information for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and major credit bureaus, so individuals can place fraud alerts or credit freezes on their accounts.
The notice also explained the right to file a police report in cases of identity theft and included state-specific contact information for attorney general offices.
Given the nature of the breach, affected individuals are encouraged to monitor their financial accounts closely, review credit reports for unauthorized activity and consider placing a credit freeze or fraud alert with the credit bureaus.
