UFCW Local 342 is a labor union local affiliated with the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. The union represents workers across New York and New Jersey in industries such as retail supermarkets, meat markets and nursing homes.

What Happened?

On April 28, 2025, UFCW discovered a data breach that affected the personal information of current and former members, as well as other individuals associated with the union.

After an investigation, which concluded on Feb. 12, 2026, it was determined that an unauthorized user accessed files on the company's network sometime between April 25 and April 28, 2025.

The breach was reported to state authorities on March 9, 2026, and written notification was sent to those impacted.

A total of 56,615 people in the United States were affected, including 30 in Maine and 105 in Massachusetts. The breach exposed a range of sensitive information.
