What happened?

In September 2025, News-Press & Gazette Company discovered unauthorized access to its network. The company learned of the breach on Sept. 4, 2025, and determined that the unauthorized party accessed and potentially copied data between Sept. 4, 2025, and Sept. 25, 2025. The breach was later disclosed to state authorities, including the Texas and Massachusetts attorneys general, on Dec. 17, 2025.

The breach was linked to a ransomware attack by a group known as TERMITE, who claimed to have accessed sensitive internal documents and personal data.
