What Happened?

Springfield Hospital discovered that an employee email account was accessed by an unauthorized individual on Dec. 17, 2025.

After learning of the incident, the hospital secured its email system and launched an investigation to determine the scope of the breach and whether any sensitive data was accessed or acquired.

On Feb. 10, 2026, the investigation revealed that the compromised email account contained personal and health information for certain individuals.

Information Exposed:

  • Full names
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Reasons for visits
  • Treating physician names
  • Medical record numbers

At this time, 41 residents of Massachusetts were impacted.
