What Happened?

On or about Sept. 29, 2025, Spindletop Center was the victim of a cyberattack by an unauthorized third party, causing systems and servers to become inoperable for a limited time. The breach affected a reported 88,863 people in the United States.

Through investigation, it was determined that on Sept. 23, 2025, the unauthorized party may have accessed sensitive information stored on Spindletop Center’s systems. The review of potentially impacted information concluded on Dec. 30, 2025.

The hacking group RHYSIDA claimed responsibility for the attack and threatened to publish the stolen data on the dark web.

The types of information exposed varied by individual, and not every person had all of the above elements compromised.

Information Exposed:

  • First names
  • Last names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license or government identification numbers
  • Diagnosis information
  • Case numbers

The incident was disclosed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Nov. 28, 2025. The company also released a statement about the incident to its website.
