What was the Ransomware Attack?
On July 22, 2024, Liberty Resources discovered unauthorized access to its network, triggering an investigation. Cybersecurity experts were brought in to assess the situation and contain the threat.
After a forensic investigation and manual document review, it was determined on Sept. 25, 2025, that files containing sensitive information were accessed and removed by an unauthorized third party between July 8, 2024, and July 22, 2024.

- Addresses
- Dates of birth
- Social Security numbers
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
The incident was reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office on Nov. 20, 2025. According to public disclosures, 27 Massachusetts residents were affected.
The RHYSIDA ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack and threatened to publish stolen data on the dark web.
