What Happened?
Issaqueena Pediatric Dentistry experienced a criminal cyberattack involving ransomware, which impacted its systems and resulted in the exposure of sensitive information.
The incident was first posted on the dark web by the INTERLOCK ransomware group on Nov. 24, 2025, who claimed to have obtained over 118 GB of the organization’s data.
The company discovered the breach and, with the help of third-party experts, secured its systems and began an investigation.
On or about July 1, 2026, Issaqueena Pediatric Dentistry PA determined that protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) may have been accessed without authorization.
The breach was reported to the South Carolina Attorney General on Sept. 3, 2026, and to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Feb. 4, 2026. In South Carolina alone, 55,251 people were reportedly affected.
