Earthbound Trading Company, founded in 1994, has grown to operate about 150 retail shops nationwide, along with an online store, and employs several hundred people.

What Happened?

On Dec. 18, 2025, Earthbound discovered unusual activity on its computer network.

The company secured its systems and launched an investigation with cybersecurity experts. It was determined that certain data had been acquired without authorization as a result of the incident.

By March 6, 2026, Earthbound confirmed the scope of the breach and identified the affected individuals.

The breach impacted a total of 6,766 people in the United States, including 33 in Maine. The breach primarily impacted current and former employees, exposing sensitive personal information.

Those affected were notified by written letter on March 12, 2026.
