Wallace Saunders identified unexpected activity on its computer network and engaged digital forensics specialists to investigate the incident. The firm secured its environment while the investigation was underway.
The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized actor accessed the firm's network over a three-day period, from May 16 through May 18, 2026. During that window, the unauthorized actor had the ability to access certain files stored on the network.
The types of information that may have been exposed vary by individual but could include names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver's license numbers and financial account information and medical information.
The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on July 15, 2026.
The total number of people affected nationwide has not been disclosed.
