On Nov. 27, 2024, the real estate investment and management firm, Steadfast Companies, experienced a data breach involving unauthorized access to its systems. The breach was first detected on Dec. 23, 2024, when the company identified signs of suspicious activity. A subsequent investigation revealed that an unknown actor had gained access to certain archived files and folders between Nov. 27 and Dec. 11, 2024.

The breach impacted at least 1,102 individuals in Texas and three in Massachusetts, according to official reports submitted to state authorities.

The disclosed types of consumer information exposed in this breach included names, addresses and Social Security numbers.

The breach was reported to the California Attorney General’s office on July 16, 2025, and similar disclosures were made to the Massachusetts and Texas attorneys general on July 16 and July 17, 2025, respectively. Steadfast Companies notified affected individuals by U.S. Mail, as required by law.

Steadfast Companies’s response
