Steps to take if your information was exposed

  • Place a fraud alert or security freeze on credit files by contacting Equifax (1-800-525-6285), Experian (1-888-397-3742) or TransUnion (1-800-680-7289) to help prevent new accounts from being opened without authorization.
  • Request free credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and review them carefully for any unfamiliar accounts, inquiries or incorrect information.
  • Contact financial institutions about any bank accounts, credit cards or debit cards that may have been affected, and ask whether it is necessary to close accounts or obtain new account numbers.
  • Watch for phishing attempts that reference Revolution Dancewear or this data breach by name, as scammers may try to use the incident to trick people into providing additional personal details.
  • Review health insurance statements for any claims or services that were not authorized, since health-related information was among the types of data exposed in this breach.
  • Consider contacting the IRS about an Identity Protection PIN if a taxpayer identification number was involved, as this information could potentially be used to file a fraudulent tax return.
