
NetLine Corp. disclosed a data breach involving unauthorized access to a public-facing webserver. The company, headquartered at 275 Grove St. in Newton, Massachusetts, serves thousands of business marketers through content syndication across publisher properties worldwide.
The breach has been reported to attorneys general offices of Maine and Vermont.
On April 20, 2026, an unknown actor gained unauthorized access to a public-facing webserver operated by NetLine and queried certain databases on that server without authorization. The company detected suspicious activity related to the webserver the following day and secured the affected server.
NetLine then launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. The threat actor responsible for the breach has not been identified.
Following the investigation, the company conducted a thorough review of the affected databases to determine what personal information was stored on them and to identify which individuals the information related to. The company completed this entire review process on April 29, 2026.
The types of personal information that may have been exposed as a result of this breach include names and Social Security numbers or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers.
NetLine is offering affected individuals access to identity monitoring services through TransUnion for two years at no cost. The company reminds individuals to remain vigilant by regularly reviewing their account statements and monitoring credit reports for any signs of unauthorized activity.
NetLine further encourages affected individuals to contact the Federal Trade Commission, their state attorney general and local law enforcement to report any attempted or actual identity theft or fraud.
