
Mountain Laurel Medical Center, a nonprofit community health center serving patients in western Maryland and nearby West Virginia, disclosed a data breach involving sensitive patient information.
The organization operates as a patient-centered medical home, offfering services such as preventive care, wellness checks, physical exams, chronic disease management, immunizations, health education, care coordination and integrated behavioral health.
The breach was reported to the Vermont Attorney General on Sept. 1, 2026. The total number of people affected by this breach across the United States has not been publicly reported at this time.
The breach at Mountain Laurel Medical Center resulted in the exposure of sensitive patient data including Social Security numbers and health records.
