
On Oct. 15, 2024, Lakeside Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, PLLC, a pediatric medical practice located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, experienced a data breach.
According to the notice filed with the Washington Attorney General, an unauthorized party gained access to the company’s computer systems. The breach was discovered on or about Nov. 1, 2024, and after a thorough forensic investigation, it was determined that sensitive files were likely accessed and/or acquired by the intruder.
The company became aware of the specific types of data involved after an extensive manual document review, which concluded on or about Dec. 26, 2025.
The compromised data included personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) such as names, Social Security numbers, full dates of birth, health insurance policy or ID numbers and medical information.
The breach affected at least 1,314 individuals in Washington state.
The incident was formally disclosed to the Washington Attorney General on Feb. 27, 2026. Additionally, Lakeside Pediatrics posted a security incident notice on its website.
Lakeside Pediatrics is offering affected individuals complimentary credit monitoring, credit reports and credit score services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. These services provide alerts for several months from the date of enrollment when changes occur to a person’s credit file.
Affected individuals are encouraged to enroll within 90 days of receiving their notification letter.
The company has also advised individuals to remain vigilant by regularly reviewing financial account statements and credit reports for any signs of fraudulent or irregular activity.
Additional recommendations include placing a fraud alert or security freeze on credit files, obtaining a free credit report from major credit bureaus and monitoring health insurance statements for unauthorized activity.
