
Hudson Valley Medical Billing & Credentialing LLC, a medical billing company that provides patient billing, credentialing and accounts receivable services for healthcare providers, has disclosed a data breach involving possible unauthorized access to one of its computer systems.
On March 6, 2026, Hudson Valley Medical Billing & Credentialing became aware of possible unauthorized access to one of its computer systems. The company then shut down the affected computer and launched an investigation to determine whether any health information had been affected.
The types of information that may have been exposed in this incident include names, Social Security numbers, financial account information and medical records.
The total number of individuals affected across the United States has not been disclosed.
Hudson Valley Medical Billing & Credentialing began sending notification letters to affected individuals on July 7, 2026. The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on July 15, 2026.
Hudson Valley Medical Billing & Credentialing is offering free credit monitoring services through CyberScout. Affected individuals can enroll by visiting the CyberScout activation page and entering the unique code provided in their notification letter.
Hudson Valley Medical Billing & Credentialing has also set up a dedicated call center for individuals with questions about the incident. The call center can be reached at 1-833-851-4874, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time, excluding holidays.
