
Florence Bank, a community savings bank headquartered in Florence, Massachusetts, disclosed a data breach that resulted in the unauthorized exposure of personal information belonging to customers.
The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on July 15, 2026. The bank mailed notification letters to affected individuals on July 6, 2026.
The types of personally identifiable information exposed in the breach included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers.
At this time, details concerning the incident, such as the date of unauthorized access or when it was discovered remain undisclosed publicly.
Florence Bank is offering 100% reimbursement for 18 months of identity theft protection services, allowing affected customers to choose the provider that works best for them
Customers who were affected by the breach may purchase identity monitoring services from LifeLock, Experian or any other provider of their choosing.
The notification letter also included guidance on additional protective measures that consumers can take to help safeguard their personal information.
