Elixir Medical Data Breach Impacts PHI and PII of Current and Former Employees
Elixir Medical

Elixir Medical Corp., a privately held medical device company based in Milpitas, California, disclosed a data breach that involved unauthorized access to its computer network in July 2026.  The total number of individuals affected has not been disclosed.

The company develops technologies for treating coronary and peripheral artery disease.

Between July 20, 2026, and July 21, 2026, an unauthorized party gained access to Elixir Medical Corp.'s computer network. After learning of the unauthorized access, the company worked to determine which files on the network may have been affected.

By Aug. 11, 2026, the investigation determined that some of the files potentially at risk contained human resources data. These files included information about the company's current and former employees and consultants, as well as certain beneficiaries and dependents of those individuals.

The files potentially involved in the breach contained names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, credit or debit card numbers, medical information and direct deposit bank account information.

The breach was disclosed to the California Attorney General on Sept. 4, 2026.
