First Sight Family Vision, an optometry practice in Battle Ground, Washington, formally known as Jason R Egbert OD PC, disclosed a data breach that affected 1,225 individuals in the United States.

The breach originated with a third-party vendor called Networking Technology Inc., doing business as RXNT, which provides cloud-based software for electronic prescribing, practice management and electronic health records to healthcare organizations.

The breach was disclosed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on June 2, 2026. The practice also posted a notice on its website on June 3, 2026, sharing details about the incident that RXNT had provided.

First Sight Family Vision uses RXNT to electronically prescribe medications and communicate directly with patients' pharmacies. On March 3, 2026, RXNT became aware of unauthorized activity on one of its software solutions used by a portion of its customers.

RXNT's investigation, conducted alongside cybersecurity experts, determined that between March 1, 2026, and March 3, 2026, an unauthorized actor obtained certain data stored on the system. RXNT then conducted a comprehensive review of the affected data to identify what information was involved and which individuals and customers it related to.

The types of information exposed vary by individual and may include patient names, dates of birth, demographic information (such as addresses, contact information and patient ID) and prescription information (such as prescribing provider, prescription and receiving pharmacy) and Social Security numbers.

The incident did not involve any payment card, bank account or other financial information, according to the notification.

First Sight Family Vision's response to the breach
