Delaware North, a large privately held hospitality and food service company headquartered in Buffalo, New York, disclosed a data breach that exposed the personal information of consumers.
On Jan. 27, 2026, an unauthorized actor gained access to an employee's Microsoft account and took copies of certain files. Delaware North detected unusual activity in the account the following day on Jan. 28, 2026.
The company then began reviewing the copied files to determine what personal information they contained and which individuals were affected. On May 28, 2026, the analysis confirmed that one or more of the copied files held personal information belonging to affected individuals.
The types of information exposed included names and driver's license numbers or state-issued identification numbers.
The breach has so far impacted 132 Maine residents. Delaware North began notifying affected consumers on June 5, 2026.
Delaware North is offering one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Kroll. The services include triple bureau credit monitoring and unlimited fraud consultation with a Kroll specialist.
Affected individuals can activate their monitoring services by visiting Kroll's enrollment website and entering the unique membership number included in their notification letter. Each letter includes a deadline by which the services must be activated.
