
Apex Maritime Co. Inc. doing business as K-Apex (SFO), a freight forwarding and logistics company based in the Burlingame, California, recently disclosed a data breach.
On May 19, 2026, a threat group named TITAN posted on the dark web, claiming it had obtained data belonging to K-Apex. It announced its intention to publish the stolen information within 10 to 11 days.
The company did not provide the specific dates when the breach occurred or when it first discovered the unauthorized access to its systems.
The type of personal information exposed in the breach included Social Security numbers.
The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on July 14, 2026. The company's began sending notification letters to affected individuals on July 9, 2026.
K-Apex is offering affected individuals 24 months of free credit monitoring through Cyberscout. To enroll, individuals can visit the Cyberscout activation page and enter their unique code. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.
The company has also set up a dedicated call center to answer questions about the incident. Affected individuals can reach the call center at 1-800-405-6108, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific Time, excluding U.S. holidays. The call center will remain available for 90 days from the date of the notification letter.
