On June 17, 2025, Alert Medical Alarms, a Pennsylvania-based provider of personal emergency response systems, experienced a significant ransomware attack. The incident was orchestrated by the Qilin ransomware group, who claimed responsibility for the breach and posted about it on the dark web on July 1, 2025.

According to the company’s official notice posted on their website, the attackers gained unauthorized access to internal systems and exfiltrated sensitive consumer data.

The breach exposed a range of personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI), including names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, diagnosis details and health insurance information.

The compromised data potentially puts affected individuals at risk for identity theft, medical identity fraud and other forms of misuse.
