Aerospace Alloys Inc. (AAI), a specialty metal service center and high-performance alloy distributor based in Bloomfield, Connecticut, recently disclosed a data breach. The company, founded in 1980, serves industries including aerospace, defense, power generation, naval and medical and has been an approved source for major aerospace customers such as Pratt & Whitney and UTC Aerospace Systems. It describes itself as a leader in sourcing hard-to-find materials.

The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and the New Hampshire Attorney General on Aug. 19, 2026. AAI began notifying affected individuals on Aug. 19, 2026,

AAI identified unauthorized activity within its computer network on or about July 9, 2026. Once the activity was detected, the company took steps to address the situation.

The company launched an investigation into the incident, which determined that certain data stored within its network was potentially copied without authorization. Following this finding, AAI began a detailed review of the affected data to determine what types of personal information were involved and which specific individuals the data related to.

The company completed its data review on July 31, 2026.

The types of information that could have been accessed included names and Social Security numbers.

Aerospace Alloys's response to the breach

AAI is offering 24 months of free Single Bureau Credit Monitoring, Single Bureau Credit Report, Single Bureau Credit Score services and proactive fraud assistance through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.

To enroll in the free credit monitoring and fraud assistance services, affected individuals should visit Cyberscout's activation page and enter the unique code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days from the date of the letter.
